Thank
you for your interest in organizing a speaking engagement on the 2007
Veg Speaking Tour. If you have not hosted a lecture like this before,
we would like to offer some tips on planning a successful event.
- When choosing
a time for the event, think about what hours most people are available.
Evenings and during the day on weekends are generally the most convenient
times for people. If the lecture is part of a larger event, be sure
to allow time for people to take a break or eat a meal.
- If the
lecture is open to the public, try to choose a venue that is known and
accessible to most people in the community.
- Post flyers
(which we can provide) around town. Markets, coffee shops, community
bulletin boards and college campuses are good places to advertise. Be
sure to seek permission to hang flyers or they may be taken down soon
after you post them!
- Get in
touch with animal protection groups, vegetarian groups, and environmental
groups in the area so that they can alert their members to the event.
- Try to
finalize the details as early as possible. Farm Sanctuary cannot assist
in promoting the event until we have the date, time, venue, and contact
information.
If
you have any questions, please call 607-583-2225 x269 or email mrice@farmsanctuary.org.
Thank you!
